Range Rover Evoque vs  BMW X4

When looking for the right luxury SUV, there are a lot of things to consider from what kind of engine power you want to the features you need and when there are so many models to consider, the process can become stressful. We have created this handy comparison review to help you quickly narrow the segment down by pitting two of the most popular models against each other to see how they stack up! On the left, we have the Range Rover Evoque and on the right, we have the BMW X4. Keep reading to learn more about these SUVs and which one we recommend!

Range Rover Evoque Power & Handling

Two powertrain options are available for the Range Rover Evoque. The first, a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder, generates 251 pound-feet of torque and 237 horsepower. A more powerful version of this engine is available for the higher trim levels, kicking out 295 pound-feet of torque and 286 horsepower. Both engines are mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission with steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. All-wheel-drive is the standard drivetrain configuration for both models.

BMW X4 Power & Handling

There are two powertrains available for the BMW X4 as well. The standard engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that creates 258 pound-feet of torque and 248 horsepower. The other engine available is a 3.0-liter turbocharged 6-cylinder that produces 365 pound-feet of torque and 355 horsepower. Both engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel-drive.

Range Rover Evoque Features & Design

Land Rover offers the Range Rover Evoque in two body styles, a conventional four-door SUV with six trim levels and a two-door convertible with two trim levels! Standard features include an 8-inch touchscreen, automatic wipers, dual-zone climate control, power-adjustable front seats, a navigation system, front and rear parking sensors, power-folding and heated mirrors, an eight-speaker sound system, and a rearview camera with trailer hitch guidance. As well as off-roading features like the Terrain Response System, All-Terrain Progress Control, and hill descent control. The upper trim levels come with features like a panoramic glass roof, perforated leather upholstery, configurable ambient lighting, a 10.2-inch touchscreen, automatic high-beam control, a surround-view parking camera system, and an automated parking system.

BMW X4 Features & Design

The BMW X4 is only available in two trim levels and there is no convertible option. The standard features for this SUV include a power liftgate, LED headlights, a sport-tuned suspension, automatic wipers, simulated-leather upholstery, navigation, a 12-speaker sound system, and BMW Assist emergency telematics. The upper trim level adds an adaptive suspension and aerodynamic exterior touches. Most of the features you are looking for are locked away behind expensive packages racking up the price even higher.

Conclusions

The BMW X4 may offer a more powerful engine option but it still can't compete with the Range Rover Evoque. The convertible option is simply outstanding and the number of trim levels to choose from, make the one we recommend! Interested in learning more about the Range Rover Evoque?
